The Global Supply Chain Team is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of transportation and distribution of merchandise through J.Crew’s multi-channel supply chain. The International Logistics Analyst will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and optimizing imported cargo from overseas; from booking to delivery to the US deconsolidation points and International 3PL warehouses. Partnering with Planning, DC Operations, Inventory Management, PO Fulfillment, Domestic Transportation team, Merchandise Manager’s and Assistants, and other internal groups will be required. This role works externally with Global Logistics Provider, ocean carriers, airfreight forwarders, Customs broker, draymen, FTL and LTL truckers, and 3rd-party warehouses. This Analyst will track-and-trace purchase order and shipments, reconciliation, and exception reporting related to the movement of our goods throughout the International portions supply chain.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Proactive exception management of all import activities to ensure on-time delivery
Coordinate with overseas vendors to manage import activities in order to meet service level expectations.
Work with vendors to identify and eliminate logistics obstacles to ensure safe and timely shipping of products.
Effectively monitor and track non-compliances, initiate Corrective Action Plan to resolve Root Cause
Maintain good relationship with vendors and service providers to improve overall business performance
Establish and define vendor routing guide, logistics procedures, carrier’s service level agreement and SOPs, review routinely to ensure they are continuously maintained and updated
Develop standard operating procedures and scheduling/shipping practices for efficiently carrying out logistics activities
Ensure that logistics system is operated in accordance with local, state and federal customs laws.
Ensure that logistics activities are in compliance with United States Customs and Border Protection regulations.
Develop Metrics and KPIs to measure vendors, carriers and 3PL’s performance
Create and maintain detailed financial reporting on all import activities including order management, logistics and shipping.
Inform cost changes, shipment issues, supply concerns to respective personnel and team in timely manner
Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize processes
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development
Research, analyze, develop and manage import programs, including reporting and presenting results, devising recommendations for change in processes and procedures.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent work experience)
3+ years of relevant industry experience with focus on analytics and logistics
Supply chain and retail, especially fashion/soft lines, experience a plus
Microsoft Office skills required with strong Excel and/or Access skills preferred

Physical Requirements:
An office position which requires minimum lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending, walking, climbing stairs, standing and stooping
Sit in a chair at a desk most of the time
Ability to type and read computer screen
Office environment within a Distribution Center/Warehouse environment
