The Urology Group is searching for a Front Desk Specialist to work full time, Monday-Friday, in our Crestview Hills KY office.
Summary: Provides support with the daily activities of a medical office including filing, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, registration, and patient referrals by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Prepares patients’ charts for daily schedule by printing fee tickets and pqrs or intake form, medication list.
Reviews patients’ charts prior to office visit for current insurance referrals, outdated forms, outstanding balances as assigned. Initials when complete.
Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or takes messages for medical personnel.
Schedules appointments in scheduling system. Updates patient’s demographics when scheduling the appointment. Includes details in Tiger when scheduling – visit type, chief complaint, testing, insurance, etc. Enters email addresses if applicable.
Conducts appointment reminder calls to all patients.
Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
Registers patients by verifying that patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient's chart. Copies all insurance cards and registration sheets and forwards them to charge entry personnel.
Collects co-pay payments, deposits, outstanding balances from patients and reconciles daily cash reports. Prepares deposit ticket to be sent to the bank with checks, cash.
Takes credit card payments as needed. Complete daily settlement report.
Prepared daily batches to be sent to corporate office in a daily basis.
Performs assigned duties for Meaningful use (such as entering patient emails, generating portal password for patient, completing demographics in EMR and completing clinical summaries in EMR) as directed.
Check out patients out by scheduling follow-up appointment, scheduling testing, etc.
Perform precertification as needed for testing.
Maintains “checkout” workflow by completing physician plan items as needed.
Maintains lobby, patient restrooms as needed.
Maintains all supplies for front desk including all forms needed.
Faxes requested information to corporate office on an as needed basis.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information and disseminates to others on a need to know basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word software. Knowledge of Medic is helpful.
