Scope of Position:
In this role, you will perform a wide variety of administrative support tasks for Plant Leadership, manages employee data in HR Systems, and acts as the first point of contact for general employee questions. We look for you to establish and reinforce Corning Values and a positive work environment while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the plant manager and staff i.e. manage calendars, make travel arrangements, coordinate executive visits, and arrangements, manage plant visitors, prepare presentations, manage group visits i.e. tours, etc.
Provide event coordination for the facility, i.e. training events, outside plant visits, celebrations, service award events, etc.
Act as Human Resources Data Steward or back up Data Steward managing HRIS data, support onboarding, department changes, report generation, etc.
Provide data reporting and analysis for various functions, i.e. financial headcount, recognition reporting, time to fill openings, plant service, annual staffing, etc.
HR/Payroll administrator for the non-exempt and hourly population.
Use SME on the Kronos system, clears payroll for the facility, audits time, instructs supervisors on use and questions, Monitors holiday and shift patterns for accuracy, etc.
Develops plant communication and training calendars publishes to the organization.
Manages plant conference rooms with daily schedules and assists with conflicts in needs.
Leads Plant Activity Team and manages related sundry i.e. Museum Passes and Memberships, Durham Bulls Season Tickets, Florist orders for employees, holiday event planning and execution, plant-wide event, and execution, service awards, etc.
Acts as one of the first points of contact for employees’ general requests.
Manages employee locker process and assignment.
Manages daily mail and postal meter.
Builds HR reputation through value-added interactions with customers.
Recommends areas for standardization of HR programs/processes / policies, as appropriate, to reduce the complexity of administration and associated costs.
Assigns appropriate confidentiality status to materials and may take action to ensure compliance.
Independently solves most problems on the basis of examining pertinent facts.
In addition to maintaining internal customer relations, may interact with external contacts.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
Standard business hours; Monday – Friday.
Associates in Business, General Administration, or equivalent.
Required Years and Area of Experience:
Minimum 3+ years in a high level administrative, coordinator, HR administration, etc.
Prior administrative experience in a professional or manufacturing/plant environment.
Successful track record in managing administrative requirements for a plant / large facility and a team of managers/individuals
Experience managing processes.
Excellent MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
Experience with: Sharepoint Administration, ETQ, and SAP Success Factors desired.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to initiate and handle multiple tasks and projects as necessary.
Ability to develop processes for repeatable results and sustained improvement.
Solid customer service mindset with the ability to carry themselves with a high level of professionalism.
