Manages the operation of two or more research laboratories.
- Assigns, checks, and monitors assignments of lab personnel.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of equipment, chemicals, and other materials.
- Estimates personnel needs to obtain lab and research objectives.
- Conducts personnel evaluations, recommends hiring and terminations, and performs other management functions.

- Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical skills working with animals in a veterinary research or clinical environment.
- Cell & Molecular biology skills: PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, RNA isolation & purification, protein isolation, immunocyto/histochemistry, fluorescence microscopy.
- Extensive experience of lab safety procedures.
- General laboratory safety practices.
- Skills to follow animal research protocols and stay within compliance of IACUC guidelines.
- Skills to follow directions and stay on task.
- Skills to work individually and as a team.
- Hands on lab & animal experience
- Experience in writing SOPs, working with and training students, ordering and lab maintenance.
