Full Job Description
We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelors degree in (but not limited to) Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or other related Science majors for an internship during the summer of 2020.
Objective of the Internship:
The objective of the internship project would be to confirm our hypothesis that liquid-liquid phase separation observed in the CEX eluate is driven by the solubility limit of the protein in salt. The intern would execute an experimental plan that would explore the effects of pH, protein concentration, different salts, and temperature on the molecule’s solubility and generate the best conditions to operate the CEX chromatography step before executing those conditions on the AKTA to confirm the results of the study.
Column chromotography experience is highly desired, and a general understanding (Affinity, IEX, etc) is strongly preferred.
Lab experience is preferred
Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical writing skills are required.
Good communication, organization skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and available to work onsite in Gaithersburg, MD
