Network Administrator

Summary: Ensures global network availability by identifying requirements, monitoring, analyzing, maintaining and tuning the Audia network. Troubleshoots network issues and resolves or escalates as required. Responsible for establishing network specifications by conferring with users and analyzing requirements. Conducts router, switch, and firewall administration, including interface configuration, routing protocols, and connections. Maintains network by evaluating performance, utilization, throughput, and latency. Plans and executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment. Defines network policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with department managers to determine future network needs and adequately plan for growth and changes.
  • Develop methods and tools to be used in testing and implementing new LAN/WAN equipment
  • Initiate and manage network projects to add functionality required to achieve organizational goals
  • Install, configure, validate, and support internal and external networking equipment and related tools
  • Identify and troubleshoot network performance bottlenecks and issues
  • Support the daily function of the IT environment
  • Work with business unit owners and the IT team to create and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Recommend and install upgrades, patches, applications, and equipment
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users and the IT team as required
  • Limited travel (20%) required
  • Expected to perform duties safely and in compliance with documentation outlined in Safety, Health, and Environmental system
  • Expected to perform duties in compliance with defined quality management system requirements
  • Consistently install, configure, and thoroughly test equipment so that it functions as per industry best practices and in-line with vendor recommendations.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate
  • Six years’ successful network troubleshooting experience – manufacturing environment preferred
  • Four years’ experience with Cisco networking architecture
  • Familiar with routing protocols, including RIP, RIPv2, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MCGP, H.323, and SIP
  • Experience managing large and complex network environments
  • Solid technical skills and experience with a variety of network protocols, software and hardware involved in LAN/WAN operation
  • Ability to complete work with minimal supervision, in a collaborative environment
  • Strong critical thinking, diagnostic, and communication skills
  • Cultural awareness to work in a global organization
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment
  • Ability to assist in resolving emergencies outside of the standard business day
