Job Description

CACI is looking for a mid-level SAP Oracle DBA professional with the strategic skills and experience to plan, design, implement, maintain and support the Oracle Databases underlying our clients’ SAP solutions throughout the system development life cycle using best practices. Under the direction of the Basis Team Lead, this DBA will join our team of professionals performing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities to ensure uninterrupted sustainment of our Clients’ SAP database environments. In addition, this Basis Professional will support the integration of emerging technologies (e.g.: HANA, FIORI / UI5, etc.) into our Clients’ enterprise environments in an evolutionary manner to ensure smooth transition into production operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the BASIS Team Lead, this SAP Oracle DBA Professional will be responsible for supporting and operating our Clients’ SAP System Production Support Landscape (PSL) and Development Support Landscape (DSL) database environments by performing the following duties including (but not limited to):

Perform Oracle database activities to assist the Functional Business Process, Basis, Application Development, Portal, Business Intelligence, Middleware (Process Orchestration – PO), and Security Teams in providing O&M and Release Management support for ECC, CRM, SRM, Portal, Solution Manager and other landscape components including (but not limited to):
Participate in 24x7 Operations and Maintenance call rotation support
Perform SAP System Oracle Database and Application performance tuning
Install Oracle application software
Apply and verify Oracle patches (including SAP Bundle Patches containing Critical Patch Updates)
Support the Basis Team (with Oracle database activities) as they perform:
SAP system copies
Re-host SAP instances onto containers in a virtualized cloud environment
Perform system backups and restores
Plan and execute testing of Disaster Recovery Scenarios
Support the Functional Business Process and SAP Middleware Teams in their operation, maintenance and performance tuning of synchronous and asynchronous interfaces
Support the Basis Team (with respect to Oracle Databases) in their efforts to manage and integrate hardware and virtualized servers running Solaris and Linux based high availability solutions, backup solutions, and storage area network (SAN) solutions and tools
Advise the project team of SAP Oracle technology requirements, methodology, processes and best practices
Support the Basis Team in their efforts to design, develop and implement approaches for historical data retention and archival storage backup and recovery solutions (with respect to Oracle Databases)

Required Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in related field
Ability to obtain NACI Clearance
Minimum 5 years of SAP Oracle DBA experience in complex, multi-tier landscapes with multiple development and test systems and SAP technical operations in a hosted and/or cloud environment
Effective organization skills, including the ability to realistically assess, plan for and logically organize complex technical tasks
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work individually (self-motivated) and within a team environment

Ability to communicate effectively with:
Management – providing status information, suggesting corrective actions, and taking direction when decisions are made
Diverse customer organizations – accepting guidance and feedback on requirements and deliverables
Outstanding communication skills – includes talking, listening, and writing
Experience working with third party vendors and service providers
Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in an N+1 SAP Landscape environment
Certification from Oracle, SAP Basis, or SAP HANA
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server (e.g.: backup processes)
Experience working with technical infrastructure refresh activities
Experience leading small task teams
Master’s degree in related field
Project Management Professional (PMP)
