Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve missing or incorrect training data that could negatively impact departmental reporting
  • Act as point of contact for questions surrounding report metrics and complete research analysis as needed to resolve
  • Create reports and data-driven presentations with impact. Identify trends and occurrences in data and translate findings into various mediums, including text, charts, graphs, displays and tables
  • Make recommendations based on data for L&D process improvement and strategic business decision-making
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis, and other duties as requested
  • Analyze and interpret data and to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Communicate with all levels of management and company personnel and define key performance indicators / metrics
  • Develop, integrate, and communicate learning measurement philosophy and analytics
  • Conduct on-going scans of enterprise and business data/environments to provide insight to business partners

Additional Details:
  • May participate in professional and industry communities addressing learning issues to anticipate the impact on State Farm's business practices
  • Job may require incumbent to travel overnight via commercial transportation or driving motor vehicles or both, to attend training programs and to visit field locations
  • May be expected to work irregular hours (weekends and/or evenings), based on workload and job requirements

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Functions as a team lead and/or uses highly specialized knowledge of key learning measurement concepts to serve as a resource to business partners and peers
  • Applies broad working knowledge of measurement analytics to complete assignments
  • Uses systems expertise to integrate, or to direct integration of, different information sources and databases
  • Leads high impact strategic work
  • May develop and coordinate training for newer analysts
  • May fill in for Manager in his/her absence
  • Understands State Farm learning data structure and applies knowledge to create completed work products
  • Draws conclusions and inferences for recommendations that impact learning across the organization
  • Collaborates with other reporting and analytics teams across the enterprise to influence the best possible metrics and business outcomes
  • Develops, evaluates, communicates, and maintains applicable policies, procedures, and processes, to ensure they meet internal and external business requirements
  • Uses specialized knowledge of measurement analytics to serve as a resource to business partners and peers
  • Develops and implements new policies and procedures
  • Leads some strategic work and contributes to high impact strategic work
  • Assists with projects having enterprise wide impact
  • Applies knowledge gained from researching/exposure to external practices into daily activities
  • Designs and implements measurement programs
  • Seeks out developmental opportunities for other analysts
  • May coach, mentor, and train unit members

The Learning Analytics and Reporting team is seeking a full-time analysts responsible for providing learning measurement for various L&D services, projects, and initiatives. State Farm is looking for candidates with the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to transform data into a clear, visually engaging story using a variety of tools such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and QlikSense
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions and understands rapidly shifting needs in order to turning data/information into insight and action
  • Demonstrated ability to tell a convincing story with data to capture an audience’s attention and convey the “so-what” of the analyses—thereby influencing decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability in understanding enterprise and individual business area’s environment (e.g. financials, business models, workforce structure and strategies)
  • Demonstrated understanding of learning measurement best practices
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of employees, leaders to create appropriate learning outcomes
  • An innovative and agile mind-set
The candidate will work closely with other L&D roles and across all business lines to consult on learning measurement. Applicants must have the ability to think strategically, while delivering practical data analysis. They should have experience with change management including both short and long term project life-cycles.

Technical skills desired:
  • Expert level Excel skills (complex calculations, pivot tables, creation/manipulation, macros)
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Experience researching and applying new technology
  • Expert at problem solving and anticipating solutions
