The person hired for the position of Human Resources Representative will support the Human Resource Organization. This position acts independently in administering, communicating and providing regular guidance to employees and supervisors on local HR policy, procedure, and guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Follows a variety of generally defined procedures under general guidance within functional disciplines such as benefits, compensation, staffing, organizational development, employee relations, operations, etc.
Uses human resources theories and practices to provide guidance and/or training to all levels of coworkers within the facility
Handles a variety of inquiries and develops solutions for moderately complex issues. Solutions are often based on the review of prior practices and/or experiences in similar situations. Most complex problem solving may require the use of experience, analysis, and research to resolve. Uses intermediate analytical skills to analyze trends or data. Uses short-term planning skills when forecasting or providing guidance to clients
Answers basic compensation-related questions and refers difficult inquiries to more senior colleagues and specialists
Coordinates preparation, scheduling, and implementation of human resources processes such as salary review, performance management process, etc.
Establishes credibility and visibility with employees through regular interaction and floor presence
Provides support and assistance to employees/management through administration and interpretation of corporate policies, procedures and practices
Conducts market analysis on benefit or compensation programs, and monitors market trends
Responsible for program management activities related to major suppliers including Contingent Staffing
Consults with HR and non-HR clients regarding assistance with requests for workforce reporting needs
Participates in the development of training and development plans, program design and development, and adaptation to area needs
Assist with recruitment and selection
Assist with managing the site Community Affairs Program
Coordinates various employee recognition events
Coordinates and administer training for New Employee Orientation
Exercises discretion in matters of confidentiality
Protects the corporation and assures 3M values and policies are upheld and complied to, as well as that 3M processes are implemented as appropriate. Ensures compliance with 3M Business Conduct Policies and other policies, and teaches and acts as an example of uncompromising ethics. Ensures local legislation compliance at all times
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience in a private, public, government or military environment (internship and/or coop experience applies)
Master's degree in Human Resources
Experience with payroll administration, training, and/or staffing
Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Working knowledge of theories and practices, typically applied to one discipline, such as benefits, compensation, staffing, organizational development, employee relations, operations, etc.
Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Location: Columbia, MO
Travel: May include up to 10%
Relocation: Is approved
