Your Role
As a Gensler Project Manager in our Washington D.C. office, your job is to manage projects’ financials and staffing to support the design and construction of functionally beautiful spaces. With you as a leader on the design team, sports facilities have never been so engaging.
What You Will Do

Manage all phases of design throughout project scope for sports facilities projects, including project set-up and entitlements, design and construction administration.

Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements

Manage project scheduling, budgets, and set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and consultants

Prepare project team work - plan and manage a range of project team sizes, comprised of project architects, interior designers, technical designers and consultants

Actively manage, track and be accountable for financial performance of project

Prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process

Ensure projects conform to contract

Manage team communication, project staffing, and oversight of consultant coordination; this role is more internally facing versus client facing

Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs

Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
Your Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction and/or Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited school
-
10+ years of related experience, including 5+ years of demonstrated success as a project manager on large complex architectural projects (sports facilities, convention centers, mixed use, commercial office buildings, hospitality, etc.)

Passion and excitement for sports related projects (ground up and renovations for training facilities, arenas, stadiums, ballparks, etc.)

Strong abilities in managing fees, schedules, staffing, and project finances

Experience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teams

Experience negotiating project scope and fees

Experience with the entire project life cycle and design process through post-occupancy

Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on large scale projects

Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures

Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Excellent written and verbal communication and management skills to include leadership, organization and client relationship management skills

Collaborative and team-conscious

Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace and style

Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships

Registered Architect, PMP, CCM, or related is preferred
