Scientific Drilling is looking for a Rotary Steerable Systems Repair & Maintenance Planner to work at our Houston Technology Center in Houston, TX. The RSS R&M Planner contributes to the improvement of the company's manufacturing and distribution processes, ensuring that the repair and manufacturing processes run smoothly.
As part of cross-functional team, the Rotary Steerable Systems Repair & Maintenance Planner contributes to the improvement of the company's manufacturing and distribution processes, ensuring that the repair and manufacturing processes run smoothly. One of their primary job duties is to review schedules to determine materials or personnel requirements, and to check inventory and act quickly if there is a shortage of supplies that could result in delays. In such circumstances, they must consult with other departments accordingly to make changes to the schedule. Additionally, the job requires a substantial amount of documentation, and the RSS R&M Planner must prepare reports and documents related to production, transportation, maintenance, labor, and associated costs. The RSS R&M Planner uses their knowledge to manage the day-to-day processes in the HALO manufacturing organization. They review and distribute production schedules; coordinate the workflow of materials; liaise with other employees regarding the progress of work; and prepare reports on schedules, inventory levels, shortages, costs, and more. The RSS R&M Planner ensures goods manufactured by the RSS team are produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications and are ready to distribute in a timely fashion.
Key Job Functions:
Responsible for planning and scheduling of work orders, kits and production support, while planning business demand.
Reviewing MRP and forecast demand as needed to determine manpower requirements, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
Develop shipping schedules to ensure 100% district service levels across the supply chain.
Lead the production planning process, communicating with production personnel and all other functions to ensure plans meet all commitments.
Release work orders in line with MRP and forecast demand.
Monitor work order status and follow up to ensure timely completion.
Rush production that are needed in less than the normal lead time to improve the shortfall between the current plan and requirements to meet and/or exceed district expectations.
Work with Purchasing on delivery requirement changes (expedite, push out, cancel) affected by changes made to the repair and maintenance plan.
Work with Purchasing to understand shortage and backlogs that may affect manufacturing workflows.
Create/analyze MRP and MPS reports and issue adjustments to delivery schedules as necessary to compensate for product design as well as schedule changes.
Monitor, analyze, and adjust MRP system parameters for HALO manufacturing and MRP.
Creates/manages manufacturing plans, order releases, logistics, kitting, repair planning, product conversions, and other duties as assigned.
Collaborate and coordinate with departments outside HALO (Manufacturing Engineering, Document Control, Design/Development Engineering, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Inventory).
Provide cross-functional team support for HALO manufacturing and HALO MRP related requirements.
Promote and participate in teamwork on a proactive basis to ensure goals and KPIs are being achieved.
Manage workstation and practices good housekeeping techniques.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
8+ years of business experience.
4+ years planning (MRP/MPS), demand forecasting or related field.
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
Proficient in MRP systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Proficient in use of email and internet.
Good numeracy skills
Bachelor's degree in related field.
MRP (SAP, Oracle or other system) experience and knowledge.
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Equipment & Software Knowledge:
Equipment and software used in performing the essential job functions include but are not limited to:
MS Office Word and Excel
Working in an office or a cubicle, working in warehouse environment, working on manufacturing floor, working alone or in a team, working scheduled regular hours or extended and weekends if necessary.
Physical Job Requirements:
