Job Summary:
This position creates and maintains supporting documentation for Edupoint’s software products and services. The incumbent will be responsible for adhering to established style guides and following industry best practices in technical writing.

Job Duties:
Plan, design, research, write, edit, and maintain installation and configuration guides, system administration guides, release notes, technical notifications, and instructor and participant training guides
Create and maintain context-sensitive help projects
Develop and adhere to style guides
Use industry standard best practices in technical writing
Determine the documentation requirements and appropriate strategies needed to effectively convey the information to users by studying development or testing specifications and directions, experimenting with the software, and interviewing subject matter experts, including software developers and testers
Provide assistance to other department members as needed
Provide regular status reports to management
Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements-Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong attention to details
Understands perspectives of technical and non-technical users and can write for both audiences
Proven ability to make complex things easy to understand
Ability to learn tools required for content management and publication of documents
Adaptable to changing priorities
Strong verbal communication skills with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts
Can elicit information from experts but can also learn by experimenting
Organized: follows processes, meets hard deadlines, and prioritizes many tasks
Has an innate curiosity about out how things work
Has a positive attitude, is self-motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and diligent
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of single-sourcing concepts and context-sensitive help, especially with MadCap Flare, is a plus
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Instructional Design is a plus
Knowledge of Synergy SIS is strongly preferred
