Security Manager

Dell is looking for a Security Manager to lead our global Security team that is focused on information security problems and security future proofing of a global development engineering network that is diverse and highly complex. The selected candidate will lead the team to implement Security strategies necessary to achieve the goals of the business units while maintain sound security practices. Drive a strategy, in conjunction with Security Architect, to implement security level monitoring into the Lab NOC for proactive response to possible issues. Grow the mantle of the team to deliver these strategies in the least impactive to the business units. Maintain and strengthen relationships with Dell Cyber and IT teams focused on security elements. Selects methods and techniques for identifying and advocating effective security solutions both internally and externally to the ISG organization. Working with the Security Architect to develop approaches to address critical information security issues and trains the crisis/incident response team. Grow the teams capabilities to focus on content filtering, vulnerability assessment audits and tools in order to design, confirm, determine and/or troubleshoot network and system security issues.

The successful candidate will be technically savvy, have deep understanding of development process and approaches and will comprehend current technology trends. The candidate must have an attention for detail and be able to articulate and communicate with a great level of proficiency through written and verbal communication.

Aligns operational plan with security functional strategy and procedures
Drive security strategies and procedures across all business units
Works with engineering teams to define and refine information security and systems management policies and settings
Assesses and define vendor and 3rd party access to infrastructure through secure methods
Evaluates new and emerging products, technologies and make recommendations to leadership concerning introduction of new technologies
Reviews, prioritizes and recommends information security improvements as they relate to the achievement of Dell’s business goals and objectives
Coordinates, administers, manages and monitors the use of access control systems security tools and intrusion detection systems to identify anomalous events and security infractions that exploit system vulnerabilities
Integrates information security controls into an environment to identify risks and reduce their impact
Provides analysis of potential risk to information security and recommends solutions
Creates and maintains information security documentation
Communicates information security procedures to users
Reviews and recommends changes to information security policies
Designs, develops or recommends security systems solutions for protection of proprietary/confidential data and systems
Provide network infrastructure support (deploy and maintain network hardware) to the team when needed
Drives for internal and external alignment of the strategy
Takes a leading role in strategic technical forums and meetings
Participates as required in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost
Direct the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.
Manage the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.
Career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.
Other people manager duties as assigned

IT security industry experience and an understanding of the associated technology risk
Experienced in end user security technologies like Antivirus, Device Encryptions, HOST IDS
Knowledge of log management tools, PKI etc.; Knowledge (router/switch)
Working knowledge of UNIX, LINUX and Microsoft technologies
Expert knowledge of risk management concepts
Expert knowledge of systems and network administration i.e. desktop, server
Thorough knowledge of the Globally Accepted Information Security Principles
Requires 4+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2+ years with a Master’s degree; or 1+years with a PhD; or equivalent experience

Recent experience with Sonicwall and Palo Alto
Recent experience with Nexpose and Nmap
A certification in one or more of the following: Security+, CISSP, GIAC, SSCP or, CEH; Cisco Certified Network Associate, Checkpoint Cert.Sys.Admin and Checkpoint Cert.Sys.Engineer; Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
