Finance business partner for the Credit & Lending business in the US and local representative of global CMB Capital Management team. The business partner aspect includes reviewing monthly performance, leading all planning and forecasting activities for C&L, supporting the business on various ad hoc projects and serving as a key point of contact for stress testing (CCAR and PRA). The role will also support the business in managing its RWA and Capital position and ensuring that capital efficiency actions when taken are permanent and enduring.

Impact on the Business
Active partner with Credit & Lending business leaders to drive business performance using the financial information available.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis and prepare metrics to gauge progress on delivery of strategic growth and return enhancement objectives.
Lead all planning and forecasting efforts for C&L
Support on all stress testing activities (CCAR, PRA, etc)
Support the delivery of key business objectives through active engagement with the business and delivering various projects as required
Partner with various business, risk and financial stakeholders to drive clear actions to optimize capital allocation and improve returns in CMB.
Review and provide transparency on RWA utilization from both an Advanced and Standardized perspective.
Customers / Stakeholders
Excellent stakeholder management required to coordinate across Business, Finance, Risk and other areas as required, including understanding both local and global perspectives on relevant issues.
Respond to requests and inquiries from senior management and business partners on a timely basis leveraging available resources.
Provide regular analysis and reports as well as analysis to support specific inquiries.
Leadership & Teamwork
Create and deliver presentations of analysis, trends, metrics and results. Support presentations with supporting analysis, assumptions, calculations and conclusions.
Consult with executive management, corporate finance and other departments (i.e. risk management, marketing, etc.) to provide data and analysis.
Partner with the other Business Finance colleagues across global businesses, functions and HOST on all relevant matters
Partner with and influence the senior business management on financial-related items
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Assess the financial impact of analysis and make recommendations based on the results. Manage and develop methods, procedures, reports and databases for staff members to track and maintain data for analytics.
To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.
Major Challenges
The roles requires strong drive and the ability to influence others across the firm, especially since there are no direct reports. Stakeholder management across a wide range of interested parties is key. Systems infrastructure and data availability present regular challenges that require careful consideration of issues and the development of pragmatic solutions.

The roles requires the ability to work effectively across all areas of Finance and with Business, Risk, and other functional colleagues. The ability to effect results through influence is critical.
Management of Risk
Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.


Minimum of seven years proven financial and/or business analysis experience, or equivalent.
Well developed finance business partnering skills preferred
Knowledge of how RWAs are measured and managed, including concepts of EAD, LGD, PD and EL; understanding of external regulatory environment, especially as it impacts banks’ capital requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, business management, related field or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
Strong management, interpersonal, analytical, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, systems and reporting critical
Proficiency with personal computers and pertinent mainframe systems and software packages. Advanced spreadsheet and database knowledge preferred.
Proven ability to work with and influence stakeholders across multiple functions and throughout levels of the organization
