Job Description:
Scope/Purpose of the Position

This role is a key member of the Business Analytics team and will be responsible for assisting the Marketing department in all efforts related to data analysis, report development, and technical support for key initiatives. This role will develop new reports and processes as well as support existing ones. Will be responsible for creating complex queries and SQL objects such as tables, stored procedures, and functions in order to provide robust analysis on pertinent issues or to develop reports and/or other processes based on the business need.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Work with assigned business units to define analytics needs - e.g. reporting, metrics/KPIs, data issues/inconsistencies for reconciliation, tools
Work with various business units and IT on system development and configuration needs to support key business stakeholders
Plan, execute, and deploy the development of operational analytics and metrics to deliver data that is required to manage and refine operational execution
Assist in training related to the use of various reports, data, metrics, etc.
Work with assigned business units to ensure the all projects are completed timely
Analyze problems, determine cause and initiate corrective action
Identify data sources, coordinate data feeds from external sources and develop or coordinate the development of reports, queries, forms and spreadsheets to meet process and information needs of business unit
Analyze reports of data for duplicate data or other data errors
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Maintain / Monitor data dictionary, reporting inventory report and other relevant documentation
Senior/Executive Management Reporting
Regular analysis and review of reporting and data developed from the assigned functional areas
Provide insight into real-time trends and performance
Report findings to Senior/Executive Management for decision-making and steering overall business forward
Performs other duties as required
Work Experience and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Mid-level experience in Excel, Tableau, SSRS and SQL (preferably SQL Server)
Strong skills and experience in the collection and analytics of data focused on delivering usable data for management
Thorough understanding of Mortgage Originations and/or Servicing concepts and processes preferably as it relates to compliance
Demonstrated skills in all aspects of report development - consolidating data, creating measures and metrics and presentation/design
Proven proficiency using SQL to create medium to advanced queries to pull data as well as developing database objects (tables, stored procedures) for reporting purposes
Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite - chiefly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent analytic skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints
Excellent level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Excellent level of oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate across a variety of audiences
Professional and effective interpersonal skills. Solid decision making skills with display of professionalism in maintaining confidentiality
Ability to rapidly acquire detailed knowledge of departmental policies, practices and procedures
Strong time management skills, fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative and handling multiple projects simultaneously
Reports to work on a daily and timely basis
Minimum Qualifications
College degree preferred in Business or related field, or equivalent skills and knowledge
At least one year of experience working in mortgage banking
Two to five years of related technical experience
