Description of Duties/Essential Functions
Under general supervision, receives and answers calls on the statewide toll-free Medical Hotline from Department of Children and Family Services staff, medical providers, and foster and adoptive parents; responds to inquiries and provides information, utilizing knowledge of DCFS and DHS/HFS operations, eligibility rules, and regulations; receives phone requests for temporary medical card numbers from child protection and intact family services workers; keyboards a variety of difficult materials; maintains filing systems; receives and processes the unit's mail.
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one year of related office experience; requires working knowledge of alpha-numeric sequencing; requires working knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs; requires the ability to operate a multi-line phone system and the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite; requires the ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 35 wpm.

Anticipated Starting Salary: $2807
Current bargaining unit employees: Contractual language applies
