About the Role
This position is responsible for providing financial support to the Professional Division. The key areas of focus will be business partnering, controllership, financial planning, analysis, and accounting for the Global Customer Service, Supply Chain & SIOP functions. This will also support the consolidation and reporting of the Global Sourcing Team that includes Manufacturing Quality and Engineering, Sourcing, and Production plants. This position is also responsible for completing complex management reports and financial models, process improvement initiatives, and developing recommendations for change. In addition, Month-end accounting close that includes some journal entry review and account reconciliation.
This position is within HARMAN’s Professional Solutions Division.
The role will supervise a Finance Analyst role, based in Northridge, CA.
What You Will Do
Controllership of the Operations functions, ensuring compliance, budgetary and T&E management, Development of control and approval policies with the functions.
Analyze and evaluate the company’s operating results and financial position.
Help develop and manage Operations, Supply Chain and Customer Service budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with the operations team on inventory tracking and forecast accuracy KPIs.
Analyze and implement options for company improvement on expenses.
Perform month-end close activities including consolidations of financial results and financial reporting.
Manage budgeting models and processes, including compiling, analyzing and reconciling monthly budgets and actual spending to review with budget owners monthly.
Coordinate with all levels of management across the division in order to gather, analyze, and prepare management reports.
Establish databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing plans and forecasts.
Provide and present management reporting on monthly financial information as well as ad-hoc analysis summaries.
Coordinate and communicate regularly with the US based finance teams on various deliverables.
Coordinate and communicate regularly with the Harman Global Sourcing and Operations functions as required.
Work with accounting department and project managers to capitalize and maintain the assets under construction and fixed asset accounts as they relate to Operations.
What You Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics
5+ years of finance and accounting experience in a complex environment
Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis processes
Knowledge of SAP and Business Intelligence reporting systems
Strong analytical, written, verbal and organizational skills
Strong work ethic
Ability to think independently and function well in a team environment
Ability to adapt to changing work priorities without loss of accuracy or time
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
Fluent in English
