The Woodlands Resort is located in the award-winning master planned community of The Woodlands, Texas 45 minutes north of Houston. The hotel features 402 guestrooms, concierge floors and 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The area around the hotel is home to multiple Fortune 500 companies, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, shopping, dining and entertainment venues.
The Executive Meeting Manager is responsible for soliciting new group business, sell and service groups while maximizing revenues for all areas of the hotel and maintain relationships with existing Accounts.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review business strategies with Director of Sales to set sales goals; determine action plan to meet objectives.
Update action plans and financial objectives quarterly.
Implement sales action plan(s) in assigned marker areas as outlines in marketing plan.
Conduct daily sales calls and arranging site inspection trips to the hotel for meeting planners.
Provide quick and timely responses and immediate communication to develop professional long-term business relationships.
Follow proper event management procedures for event execution.
Detail events to include all food & beverage, set up and audio-visual needs.
Work closely with operation departments to ensure proactive communication and successful execution of the event.
Prospect for new business for the department.
Closely following up on all business leads within a 24-hour response time.
Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base sales opportunities.
Acquire and develop new business accounts and preparing sales proposals for clients.
Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales revenue.
Represent hotel in various events, exhibitions, and industry meetings.
Participate in sales calls with other members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
Support hotel service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
Meet and exceed quarterly production goals.
Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow employees, set a positive example.
Provide the highest level of guest service to the hotel’s clients.
Promote the hotel through goodwill, courtesy and a positive attitude.
Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
Participate in monthly spa meetings, spa training and team building exercises.
Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
Ensure all safety guidelines are followed for room setup, storage, service, etc.
Maintain proper health department regulations and adhere to OSHA and fire department rules.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies.
Understanding of hotel group CRM, primarily Delphi.
Experience in Hotel Sales/Catering or Conference services.
The ability to travel.
Knowledgeable on local markets and competitive markets within the Houston region.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, additional language ability is a plus, however, not required.
Friendly, but quiet attitude.
Flexible to work varying schedules, including nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State, and local health, safety and legal regulations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, or Hotel Restaurant Management preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of hospitality sales experience in a full-service group-oriented hotel, resort or conference center is required.
