PEAKE is a fast-growing technology company based in Severna Park, Maryland. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Team immediately as a Senior Active Directory Engineer with enterprise-level experience. Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is a requirement.
PEAKE has an opening for an Active Directory Engineer specializing in Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to support the EOSS III program in Arlington, VA. EOSS is an IT Services program supporting National Guard. The program provides a range of IT services, including help desk, deskside support, Windows workstation engineering and maintenance, ITSM, Active Directory services, Data Center and video conferencing, among others.
Candidate will support the Army National Guard (ARNG) Enterprise Operations and Security Services (EOSS) contract. This contract manages ARNG's GuardNet enterprise network, to include the Army Enterprise Service Desk - National Guard (AESD-NG), the Regional Cyber Center - National Guard (RCC-NG) including the ARNG Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC), Defensive Cyber Operations - National Guard (DCO-NG), interconnectivity among the 54 states, territories, and District of Columbia of the ARNG, connectivity from (4) Enterprise gateways to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) NIPRNET network, and enterprise SIPRNET tunneling.
The individual selected for this position will be a member of the Enterprise Authentication and Directory Services team and will be assigned to work full time at a customer site in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities:
Document all platform service processes and procedures and maintain the artifacts in a document repository;
Perform systems operation support, including server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components;
Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution in support of customer requirements;
Support enterprise server refresh efforts;
Design, build, and test application upgrades within specified timeframes.
Manage and maintain Windows and VMWare servers in the customer data centers; work directly with customers as required to ensure their needs are met
Work in a rapid paced environment and work independently
Maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with other administrators, customers and engineers
Set up administrator and service accounts, tune system performance, install system wide software
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
Evaluate hardware and software, with the goal of improving and increasingly automating operations
Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures
Apply security settings and other commercial security best practices
Provide support on a M-F business hours schedule; also may be responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.
The ideal candidate will be personable and articulate, and will focus on making sure that the customer's IT needs are met quickly and effectively. He or she will be a self-starter who can work with limited supervision. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interface with customers on site and with staff in the main office in Arlington, VA.
Required Qualifications:
B. S. degree in a computer science, information technology, and computer related discipline or 5+ years supporting AD in a large enterprise IT environment
Experience managing Active Directory/ADFS and DFS
Experience as a Windows systems administrator in a large enterprise environment
Experience administering, maintaining and supporting Active Directory Federation Services software products
Experience maintaining OCSP service and servers
Experience establishing and maintain Identity Provider trusts with varying platforms specifically ADFS
Experience coordinating on-boarding of new applications into the ADFS environment;
Experience troubleshoot authentication issues and network connectivity issues as they pertain to authentication and authorization;
Experience evaluating and reviewing new technologies/applications and tools to support federated identity systems and multi-factor authentication
Very good understanding of Windows Server design, configuration and administration
PowerShell Scripting experience
Group Policy Management (GPO) and application of Local Security Policies
Application of security settings/STIGs and other commercial security best practices
System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration
System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications:
MCSE certification
ITIL training and/or certification
Past experience with the DOD
Network knowledge and experience
Exposure to SQL database concepts and installations
ITSM knowledge and experience, particularly with Remedy
Clearance:
- An active US Department of Defense clearance at secret level is required.
