YMCA Child Care Services is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, creative, self-motivated, compassionate and experienced Preschool Instructor, who has a thorough understanding of child development, to join our 2019-2020 school year team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Implementing lesson plans effectively
Preparing and setting up daily activities
Spark imagination, build self-esteem and help children discover new things each day
Guiding and redirecting students
Monitoring classroom activities at all-time
Supervising indoor and outdoor play
Interacting appropriately with parents and resolving all issues
Ensuring that safety & physical needs are being met at all times
Attending all required meetings and trainings
Work cooperatively with the Program Director and other Y staff
Maintain a positive, flexible attitude each day
Provide enriching experiences through daily routine.
Minimum of 18 years of age, with an Associate's degree or higher or a CDA preferred.
Experience working in an early learning center or preschool.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Welcoming and inclusive, positive, service-oriented attitude with diverse groups of people with regard to age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion etc.
Knowledge of developmental, social, emotional and cognitive needs in early childhood.
Flexibility, tact, and grace in talking with parents.
Successfully pass a criminal background check, fingerprinting, drug screen and TB test
PAY RATE DETAILS
Starting pay range: $10.50 to $11 depending on experience
Monday through Friday
6:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
