This is an external opportunity to join a Top 50 nationally-recognized commercial contractor and construction management firm in their regional Charlotte NC office.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a solid commercial construction background to maintain responsibility for the daily execution of local projects: engineering, project controls, cost management, risk and quality control. He or she will oversee all project team members including engineers, superintendents and administrative field support professionals.

This GC is in the commercial, healthcare, education, life sciences and technology space and offers preconstruction, construction management and self-performed commercial construction services to their clients throughout the U.S.


Oversee project team and challenge and support job-site and self-perform work teams

Maintain full responsibility for project scope, billings/collections, cash flow and cost control

Coordinate and manage planning and scheduling for project, overseeing change management and executing monthly status reports

Mentor, develop and train Project Engineers to take the next step in their careers

Maintain strong liaison and develop solid relationships with owners and architects

Maintain accountability for successful and on-time project completion, within budget and to meet customer expectations


Demonstrated knowledge of building processes and systems

Solid grasp of cost estimations, budgeting and forecasting

Advanced problem-solving skills, able to resolve complex, multi-layered issues

Knowledge of MS Office Suites, project management, accounting/cost and scheduling software systems

Proven ability to create and support team morale


Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering or related major

5+ years of commercial construction project experience

Background in commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, education, life sciences or technology sectors
