The Dispatcher assures all routes are filled as assigned and bus operators are provided with timely instructions and responses to requests for operational information throughout the day. This position also responds to customer and team inquiries. We hire individuals who make safety and customer service their top priorities. We want you to work with us, if you:
Are at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Possess a CDL B with Passenger and Air brake endorsements. Must maintain DOT physical for CDL.
Have 3-5 years of dispatching experience.
Have the ability to communicate with passengers, drivers, dispatchers and road supervisors including the use of a 2 way radio and PA system effectively.
Have excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
Possess problem solving and analytical abilities.
Have a positive attitude & excellent customer service skills
Possess excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Have the ability to work independently
Have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
Oversees road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
Assumes responsibility for on time pull in and pull out. Manages the sign in and time keeping process.
Provides customer support by responding to questions (in person, and via phone calls) and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.
Manages emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services. Support for vehicle failures, liaison between shop, client and drivers. Ensure replacement vehicles and or drivers are assigned and sent out with expediency.
Manages daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
Actively manages operators schedule and makes changes as appropriate.
Responding to accident/incident scene and conducting investigations.
Inspecting vehicles for cleanliness.
Reviewing documents and ensure accuracy and compiling reports daily. (Passenger Counts, DVIR, Mileage, etc.)
Monitors on time performance and route adherence of Operators utilizing TransLoc.
Other duties as assigned.
