Specifically, in collaboration with academic and industry partners, we are designing candidate adeno-associated viral vectors for the treatment of congenital and neurodegenerative diseases. Duties will include laboratory experiments using specialized techniques and equipment; collect and analyze data; animal handling and surgery; prepare data for presentations; imaging; and other lab duties as directed.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and work on developing promising new viral vectors with therapeutic potential while working within an academic setting and using cutting-edge molecular biology and genomics technologies such as ATAC-seq and single-cell RNA-seq.

Ideal applicants will have previous training in molecular biology (cloning, PCR) and/or experience with mouse work. Preference will be given to candidates that can commit for two years. Excellent organizational skills required, detail oriented, and ability to work in a team toward common goals. Exposure to applicable computer technologies, including specific software applications, may be required. Appropriate communications skills required.
