Full Job Description
PGH Wong is looking for a BIM Coordinator with a high level of experience in design for transportation and/or infrastructure projects. In this position, you will be responsible for leading and managing designers in the execution and maintenance of BIM, while building a team to work across various disciplines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Production and coordination of infrastructure 3D models and objects covering transit station architecture, mechanical, electrical, and civil design.
Preparation of Models and Drawings showing interfacing of different systems, underground utilities, work phasing, etc.
Conduct clash detection and Visual walkthroughs using NavisWorks Manage
Audit and review models in Autodesk Revit
Working collaboratively in a team environment to resolve design/drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives
Hold weekly BIM coordination meetings with project team members
Facilitate Early design review and constructability analysis via BIM
3D Model Quantity Extraction and Verification
Verifying accuracy and completeness of all deliverable BIM or CAD products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
Assisting in administration, training others on BIM or CAD systems and company standards
Qualifications and Experience
5+ years’ experience in BIM/design, preferably in transportation projects. Other infrastructure, Design & Construction experience will be considered.
The ability and skill level to organize, delegate, and oversee a team of designers and draftsman to complete a project from start to finish.
Understand the scope and limits of responsibility between various engineering disciplines and project support groups.
An advanced understanding of BIM.
Revit experience required
Navisworks experience required
Well versed in Data Management Systems: Bentley ProjectWise, MS SharePoint, Autodesk BIM360
MicroStation Inroads, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk Infraworks experience preferred
Dynamo experience preferred
Ideally, the candidate will have worked within a large and/or multi-disciplinary design engineering project thus appreciating the complexities involved.
Capable of quickly and accurately solving complex CAD problems.
Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS): analyzing topographic data, a transformation of coordinates, importing topographic models, etc.
Good reporting skills to a range of colleagues and senior managers.
Good level and style of communication is an essential part of the role as is an organized work manner.
A personal drive to successfully conclude project specifics.
Capable of working to a high degree of accuracy.
