LOCATION: The majority of this role will be spent supporting our healthcare providers in North Seattle, at the main UW Medical Center-Northwest campus and at our Outpatient Medical Center (OPMC). When needed, the Float Pool Medical Assistant will also support our outpatient clinics in Lake Forest Park, Ballard, Fremont, Mill Creek, and Mountlake Terrace.
SCHEDULE: This is a full time position, 40 hours per workweek.

The UW Medical Center - Northwest Ambulatory Team has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift FLOAT POOL CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT. As a Float Pool Medical Assistant, you will play a key role performing patient care duties, administering injections, and assisting with back office responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of specialty areas, including orthopedic medicine, infectious diseases, women's health, vascular services, respiratory care, surgical services, and primary care.
Bring patients to exam room and document heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight
Obtain patient history, determine patient needs, and prepare patient to see the medical provider
Administer medication and phone in pharmacy refills
Answer questions and follow through on patient inquiries
Assist providers with clinic surgical procedures
Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience.
Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Interim Certification in the State of Washington
Ability to administer injections and perform basic lab testing, immunizations, urinary catheter insertions, EKGs, allergy testing, and similar functions
Familiarity with Epic EMR software
