Duties and Responsibilities
Teaches primarily at the graduate level in advanced practice courses.
Teaches primarily in an online format
Supervises AG ACNP students in practicum experiences.
Serves as a mentor to students in the AG ACNP track.
Demonstrates a proven track record of effective teaching with use of a variety of innovative teaching techniques to promote critical thinking and achieve course outcomes.
Demonstrates thoughtfully developed teaching philosophy pedagogies.
Maintains certification in an area of specialty expertise (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP).
Supports the research/scholarly mission of the School and/or University.
Demonstrates ability to successfully conduct research/scholarly projects.
Disseminates research/scholarship through publication of clinically or educationally based journal articles and presentations
Mentors students in completion of scholarly projects.
Actively serves as a member of MNSON committees and/or task forces.
Participates in University and SON activities.
Attends MNSON and University events.
Participates in professional organizations relevant to Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP Advanced Practice.
Maintains Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP clinical practice.
Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of Illinois as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Certified Nurse Practitioner
Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Ability to work in a healthcare environment

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
An earned doctorate (PhD or DNP) in Nursing or a related field and post-secondary teaching experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of non-tenure track Assistant Professor or higher and commitment to research and scholarly endeavors.
Certification and experience as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Record of scholarly productivity.
Demonstrated collaborative and consultative working style.
Demonstrated creative and systematic problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of current trends and issues in nursing leadership and management, education and practice.
Recent teaching experience, including online teaching, at the graduate level in Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP courses.
Recent clinical practice experience as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
