Army Reserve Soldiers are assigned to a Troop Program Unit at an Army Reserve Center or Armed Forces Reserve Center. There are thousands of these centers nationwide, more location than any other Reserve Component. Every effort is made to assign a Soldier to a center that is close to home.
During training, Army Reserve Soldiers build upon their skills. Soldiers in the Army Reserve are expected to maintain a high level of physical, mental and technical preparedness and be ready to serve when called.
Another option available is to serve as an Active Guard Reserve recruiter or Soldier with full active duty pay and benefits.
