Job brief
We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk to enter information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy, and a fast and accurate typist with a keen eye for detail. You will be an essential member of a team that relies on having accurate and updated data that is easily accessible through a digital database.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents, and update discrepancies as necessary
  • Maintain and update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Create, edit and update spreadsheets with large numbers of figures
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
  • Schedule meetings and set up appointments for the team
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes
  • Keep information confidential

Requirements

  • Proven experience as data entry clerk
  • Fast and accurate typing skills; knowledge of touch-typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.). Knowledge of DonorPerfect preferred
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • High school degree or equivalent

Work Hours and Benefits
Part-time position 20-25 hours/week
Salary range: $12 to $14/hour

As a non-profit organization, qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code,
GCMIC relies on support from a combination of memberships, private donations, corporate sponsorships, grants, and program and event revenue to fund its mission and maintain George C.
Marshall’s Dodona Manor and gardens.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $12.00 to $14.00 /hour
