Medical Assistant needed to support our medical professionals in a physician supervised weight loss clinic in our Wellesley Hills office. You'll need to communicate with patients, other employees and the general public in a courteous, helpful manner by phone and in person. In addition to medical assisting, you'll provide administrative tasks as needed, including but not limited to greeting, check-in, and scheduling. You may have to assist patients who have physical limitations with ambulation.
Essential Responsibilities:
Performing medical assisting duties which may include, but not limited to, vital signs, height and weight, EKGs, performing phlebotomy and assisting during routine procedures. Ensuring that all patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use. Performing appropriate point of care testing, such as lab tests and specimen collection. Implementing quality control standards to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of testing equipment. Monitoring, and maintaining medical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean, sterilized, stocked and within expiration dates.

Experience:
Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program. Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
Medical Assistant Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Phlebotomy Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Language Requirements:

Spanish or Portuguese (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patient charts
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
