Henkels & McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held utility contracting firms in the U.S., with a reputation as one of the most reliable, innovative firms in engineering and construction for over 95 years, is seeking a Business Development Manager with a focus on the Telecommunications market.

The Business Development Manager will Team with the Director of Business Development and Operations Executives to develop and implement sales development strategies in support of overall Company and Regional business development goals in the Telecommunications market.

Major Elements:
Team with the Director of Business Development and Operations Executives to develop and implement sales development strategies in support of overall Company and Regional business development goals.
Support pre-qualification, request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) submittal efforts on selected accounts and targeted prospects.
Work with Proposal Development Team to support bid and proposal process during the initiation phase, until handoff to Operations upon award.
Keep detailed records of customer interface and opportunity development activities within Salesforce.com, H&M’s customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
Report on opportunity development status to Operations and Business Development teams.
Participate in Company Marketing & Sales opportunity development and status conference calls.
Support annual business plan development for Communications Line of Business.
Participate in regional and national tradeshows.
Perform additional assignments as requested.

Qualifications:
8+ years proven sales development experience in an outside field sales position or other customer service-oriented experience focusing on telecommunication providers and customers.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Construction related field.
Deep understanding of USAC programs, funding mechanisms and current contacts strongly preferred.
Good knowledge of carrier and fiber backbone providers is preferred.
B2B Sales Development experience is preferred.
Strong organizational and communications skills is required.
Ability to travel throughout a multi-state region is required.
