Heritage Senior Living is seeking experienced and devoted culinary aides!

As one of the country’s industry leaders, we provide exceptional senior care and services throughout Wisconsin. Heritage Senior Living’s goals are to enhance residents’ quality of life and to continue its growth and success. Our plan is to open one to two new senior communities per year and develop centers of excellence that provide comfort, care, quality, and specialized dementia services.

This position is responsible for providing food services, including scratch cooking, to residents and guests under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance in all culinary functions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is responsible for all aspects of residents’ culinary experience including adherence to dietary needs, food preparation, and serving. This person will oversee kitchen operation, with the support of the culinary director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to menus and recipes, special dietary needs, correct portioning of food, and proper serving methods as instructed by the culinary director/executive chef or executive director
  • Monitor food preparation and timeliness of serving, including compliance to all company, state, and federal guidelines
  • Assist with planning and preparation of life enrichment special events and activities as requested
  • Provide customer service to residents during meals, including brief visits to monitor satisfaction
  • Monitor inventory of supplies, labels, dates, and rotates as needed per state and federal guidelines; communicate needs to culinary director/executive chef or executive director and ensure proper storage
  • Ensure compliance with state and local health department guidelines
  • Monitor and ensure cleaning schedules and infection control procedures are being followed
  • Monitor equipment condition including temperature and chemicals in dishwasher; report any problems to executive director


  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food service preferred
  • Previous experience in food preparation required
  • Experience in health care setting preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to use good judgement to problem solve and make good decisions
  • Strong management and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of sanitation and infection control practices
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all co-workers
  • Must submit to all applicable pre-employment and annual tests per state and federal regulations
