Employee relations practitioner consulting with business leaders to resolve performance management and employee relations related issues.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides advice and guidance to business area/partners on ER related issues, such as, discipline, work practice changes, performance management, termination issues, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Recommends ER solutions and/or programs to minimize risk and legal exposure with consideration to specific business needs.
Collaborates with other disciplines and escalates as needed to resolve ER issues.
Coaches and influences managers to appropriately manage and handle performance assessment, performance management, employee development discussions with their teams.
Advises and consults on complex termination issues.
Conducts investigations as needed to resolve employee concerns or allegations.
Prepares and submits trends reports to HR Leader and management of business/area activity and additional reporting as circumstances warrant.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Applies understanding of employment laws and regulations to minimize risk.
Knowledge of ER policies and practices.
Knowledge of the business and client group and the ability to effectively implement ER strategies to support business goals.
Ability to collect and synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative data. Ability to recognize trends and develop recommendations based on data analysis.
Solid influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, peers, subordinates and other members of management.
Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with and resolve ambiguous, confidential and sensitive situations and issues of a complex nature while providing flexible solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree, in a related discipline, or equivalent. Applicable certifications preferred.
Typically a minimum of three years related work experience with demonstrated proficiency in required ER skills and abilities.
As determined by CNA and depending on the applicant’s experience and/or qualifications, candidates may be hired into one of two Employee Relations positions: (Employee Relations Consultant or Employee Relations Senior Consultant). Typically 3-10+ years of related experience.
