Full Job Description
Support the Office of Technical Integration within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) as a Risk Manager. Provide senior staff briefings on risk status using routine, ad-hoc, written, and oral reports. Manage risk by selecting and implementing measures to create, track, monitor, control, and mitigate risks. Review program documents and risk data and coordinate cross-organizational risks with other organizations. Identify individual discrete risk elements, refine mitigation strategies, and create overall view and dashboards of program risk. Coordinate with the program team to identify new creative and strategic approaches for managing risks, including activities to avoid and transfer risks.
10+ years of experience in a professional work environment
Experience with managing IT projects
Experience with life cycle and project management methodologies
Experience with tracking costs, schedule, and performance progress
Ability to identify and mitigate risks
BA or BS degree in Engineering, CS, Systems, Business or related scientific and technical field or an additional 8 years of experience in a professional work environment in lieu of a degree
Experience in the VA
Experience with implementing EHRs
