The Neonatal Transport Supervisor (NTS) provides clinical management through organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the care provided by the Neonatal Transport Team. The NTS functions under the direction of the Neonatal Services Director and demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in critical care transport of neonatal patients, and serves as a resource for Neonatal Transport Team members.

The NTS is involved in reviewing and developing evidence based standards, protocols, policies, procedures, and forms for the Neonatal Transport Team in coordination with the Neonatal Transport Committee. The NTS coordinates the neonatal transport schedule and operations with the Neonatal leadership team. The NTS with the Midwest Neonatal Transport Committee identifies and provides educational activities for the transport team, identifies performance improvement opportunities and tracks applicable measures for outcomes.

The NTS provides performance feedback and coaching of transport team members. The NTS determines the needs of the department, acquires appropriate supplies and manage adherence to department budget. The NTS assists with marketing and outreach activities of the Midwest Neonatal Transport Team and is actively involved in the quality improvement program of the Midwest Neonatal Transport Team and transport data collection.

The NTS coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Midwest Neonatal Transport Team and ensures the maintenance and availability of transport equipment, supplies, and functions as a member of the Midwest Neonatal Transport Team.

Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing

required. Will accept an ADN with an agreement to complete a BSN within two

years of hire.

Professional Certification related to neonatal transport preferred.

Participation in professional organization preferred.


Minimum three years in Level III or IV neonatal nursing Registered Nurse required.

Experience in program development and/or experience in leadership, and/or

experience in customer service preferred.

Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program

(NRP) required.

Professional Certification related to neonatal transport nursing preferred.

Current RN licensure in Kansas required or a compact license.
