Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE: APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Technician - Industrial Gas Systems to be based in Chandler AZ in support of the Ultra-High Purity (UHP) customers within the West Sub-region for our Industrial Gases Division

This an entrepreneurial opportunity for a career minded person to work out of a
World Class Semiconductor Manufacturer in the Greater Phoenix area.

The Field MaintenanceTechnician will be responsible to provide necessary technical and hands-on support to maintain and troubleshoot bulk gas delivery systems installed at Air Products UHP customer’s facilities.

Proven ability to work safely in industrial environments
Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills and hands-on electrical/electronic experience
Proficient in using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Excellent communication skills and strong technical writing skills
Experience with bulk gas purifiers, flammable gases, and gas analysis (a plus)
Project support activities to include

Generate and follow detailed Temporary Work Instructions
Experience with UHP system components; Bellows, Diaphragm, VCR
Startup, Commissioning and Calibration of UHP Instrumentation
Spring Loaded Regulators, Dome Loaded Regulators and PIC Controllers
Work in conjunction with Project Engineers during installation, commissioning and integration of bulk gas delivery systems
Must be a strong team player and able to work 12-hour shifts

He / She must be self-motivated, safety conscious, a good communicator, and possess good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. The position requires after-hours availability 7 days/week to respond to various types of service situations. There is also a requirement for occasional travel to other regions to assist other Field Service Technicians and or training requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing with customers and internal staff to include report development and other required administrative functions.
  • Capability, flexibility and willingness to adjust to new technologies and apply prior knowledge.
  • 1-3 years previous maintenance and mechanical experience in a plant or facility maintenance environment, or a High School diploma followed by technical school or apprenticeship training, or military experience relating to electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment using the appropriate tools and test equipment. A background in maintaining electronic controls, pneumatic systems, pumps, pressure vessels, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors is preferred.
  • PLC, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting are a plus.
Technical School Graduates: Students with a background in Industrial Systems, Machine Tool Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, HVAC, Process Technology, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology are encouraged to apply.
