The Red Hat Global Services Operations team is looking for a Global Business Applications Architect and Product Owner to join us. In this role, you will own the roadmap and portfolio of applications within the global services portfolio of business applications. You will lead the planning and implementation to define future state architectures for emerging enterprise initiatives and programs. You’ll also lead and work across multiple business functions to define and gain agreement on enterprise direction, integrations, and future state architectures. In this leadership role, you’ll work across all levels of the organization to develop overall architecture strategy and provide technical leadership throughout the project life cycle. You’ll work with platform architects, data management, security architects, infrastructure functions, and application development teams to develop end-to-end enterprise solutions. In addition, you’ll serve as a product owner for applications owned by the global services business team. As a Global Business Applications Architect and Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for setting, prioritizing, and evaluating the work generated by software scrum teams in order to ensure impeccable features and functionality of the offerings. You’ll also evaluate and prioritize the implementation of new features and system enhancements. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Deliver end-to-end solution architecture for all assigned projects by working across multiple business functions to define future state and gain consensus
Collaborate with business functions to define and gain consensus through proofs of concepts on the future state application scope
Own the enterprise architecture (EA) strategy, planning, and delivery perspective for responsible initiatives and programs
Partner closely with other technology teams to develop the end-to-end solution architecture including application, data, integration, security, and infrastructure domains
Implement next generation architectures, including cloud, micro services, serverless, etc. that will enable applications to provide high availability and performance, seamless integration, and user-driven reporting and analytics
Participate in vendor (RFP) and selection processes for new IT systems and enhancements
Conducts business unit architecture, innovation planning, and roadmapping
Be responsible for streamlining application infrastructure
Oversee IT application risk analysis and mitigation planning
Develop system improvement plans and sustainability frameworks
Maintain the documentation of solutions throughout the project life cycle
Identify, plan, and lead projects for application modernization program to reduce legacy platform dependence and technical debt
Provide vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the offering
Define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure that the work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the product strategy
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
Work closely with product management team to create and maintain a product backlog according to the business value or return on investment (ROI)
Lead the planning product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release and sprint goals
Research and analyze the market, users, and roadmap for proprietary and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings
Keep your knowledge of agile and scrum best practices and trends current
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, management information systems, or in a related discipline, or 5+ years of equivalent architect level work experience
5+ years of experience working within development initiatives that used scrum methodologies
Practical experience regulating enterprise initiatives and architecture experience
Data integration and implementation leadership experience
Broad understanding of application development frameworks and design patterns
Deep understanding of integration methods like APIs, messaging, etc.
Experience implementing next generation architectures is a plus
Information technology (IT) experience implementing complex IT applications or developing efficient effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
Experience creating application architecture roadmaps
Practical experience delivering end-to-end solution architectures
Experience with Salesforce Lightning and Salesforce Einstein is a big plus
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to others outside of the department and to executive management
Ability to formulate evaluations for approaches, lead discussions in scope and out of scope, and to demonstrate capabilities through proofs of concepts (POCs) and technology explorations
Ability to support and direct cross-functional team
