Position Summary

The QA Engineer plays a key role in testing new features to transform our product suite. This position participates as a member of the technology team, collaborating with software engineers, and subject matter experts to test new features and to contribute to product design, as well as working with our support team to test customer-requested changes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform black-box and white-box testing of Windows-based desktop application and web portal
  • Write and execute comprehensive test plans, both for manual and automated testing
  • Create and maintain a library of automated test cases
  • Use automated test tool and write code for automated test cases
  • Review teammates’ test plans and propose testing improvements and additional test cases
  • Prepare and execute technical processes for release testing
  • Give feedback on software designs to advocate for end-users and to better understand use cases and business requirements
  • Interpret design documentation to inform testing efforts
  • Provide mentorship to QA Specialists
  • Act as subject matter expert on tested functionality to answer internal questions

Additional Functions and Responsibilities

  • Deliver training on software components to new hires

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience as a QA engineer with demonstrated success testing a variety of types of functionality and using a variety of automated test tools
  • Proficiency working with complex, Windows-based software systems
  • Experienced with JIRA or a similar ticketing system
  • Proficiency with TestComplete automated testing tool
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Ability to write code for automated tests
