THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU, IF…

You, as the Director Finance and Cost Analysis, under limited direction, develops, evaluates and implements costing analysis and cost models of moderate complexity. Partners with Operations, Product, Engineering and Infrastructure as well as other areas of Finance to correctly track key cost metrics which include costs per customer, costs per product line, and costs of new products being introduced into Medecision’s strategic investment process. Monitor progress and present metrics both internally and externally. Support the month-end close process via financial package, variance research/explanation, and actualizing models. Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use that analyzes both revenue and expense trends. Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and organizational standards. Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results. Prepares presentation on financial implications of resource decisions for management. Other ad-hoc requests as deemed necessary by management.

Responsibilities

YOU’RE GOOD AT:
Interpreting & analyzing data and cost information
Managing multiple job duties and producing meaningful analytics
Supporting leadership and others in the organization with ad-hoc requests related to all areas of accounting or finance
Working independently and collaboratively to meet an end goal
Presenting impactful and actionable information to various levels of management
Maintaining and updating standard costs and standard labor rates
Identifying and explaining variances to standard costs and standard labor rates
Creating costing models that provide key operational cost metrics
Identifying possible cost savings through analysis of key cost metrics
Identifying underlying costs to provide insights into both client profitability and product profitability.
Delivering continuous improvement by assessing problem situations, identifying root causes, gathering and processing relevant information, generating possible solutions, and making recommendations and/or resolving the problem.
Qualifications

YOU HAVE:
A Masters in Business Administration and an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. A dual Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Accounting, Finance or Economics will also be considered;
Five to ten years of previous accounting or finance experience including in a role as a manger or director of cost analysis or financial analysis with costing responsibilities;
Public accounting experience a plus;
Demonstrated excellent leadership skills and expertise with an emphasis on financial and strategic analysis, planning, management reporting and projection management;
Shown ability to work effectively with senior executives;
Expert ability to framing the right questions and define the appropriate analysis to be performed
Ability and willingness to be hands-on and dive into the detail;
Have strong organizational skills, be detailed-oriented, and have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
Demonstrated understanding of accounting systems; Microsoft GP (“Great Plains”) or other Microsoft Dynamics products experience preferred;
Strong strategic agility, critical thinking, and analytical skills – proven high learning agility;
Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing demands of the position, customer needs and the organization;
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (With the ability to sort, organize, create a pivot table, VLOOKUP, etc.);
Knowledge of Power Pivot or Power BI is not required but strongly preferred;
Team player and willing to adapt to new tasks and projects;
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
