The NISC III program at Leidos is seeking an Occupational, Safety, and Health (OSH) Professional to support the FAA customer.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing procedures, processes, standards, specifications, and systems to achieve optimal control or reduction of hazards and exposures, which may harm people, property, and/or the environment.
This involves serving as a part of a multidisciplinary team in analyzing field level hazards producing mechanisms.
Specific duties for the position include:
Researching regulatory, scientific and engineering written materials.
Recognizing, evaluating and developing the necessary controls for occupational health hazards and safety concerns.
Initiating and providing written documentation.
Attending meetings and providing professional opinions on matters affecting occupational safety and health.
Traveling to and visiting field activities when directed by the customer.
You will also provide support to Safety Integration program.
Note: This is a permanent unscheduled professional ( less than a 1000 hrs/year) position and the work can be performed remotely
Typical minimum education and experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience.
BA/BS degree in Biology, Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental or Civil Engineering or related degree (related degree Example: business administration with a minor in Safety)
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in applying federal Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations, policies practices and procedures.
Proficient at MS Office Suite, specifically, Microsoft Excel (advanced)
Federal Aviation Administration (or other Federal agency or administration) experience and strong research, analysis, reporting skills are highly desired.
