Job Title: Food Service Coordinator
Location: East End Center
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the overall organization and coordination of the day center kitchen including ordering and serving meals to frail elders. Work duties vary on a day-to-day basis and a flexible work schedule is required, with general hours as outlined above. As with all Community LIFE staff, demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan care for and provide service to frail elders according to assigned responsibilities and Community LIFE standards.
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Required Experience: Food service that includes ordering, preparing and serving meals. Experience maintaining kitchen equipment helpful.
Ability to organize and maintain kitchen, supplies and food for frail elders
Ability to work cooperatively with others and to communicate effectively.
Required Licensure/Certifications: Certification from the national Registry of Food Safety Professionals or other approved program within six months of hire.
Desired or Preferred Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Interest in geriatrics and community-based programming.
Ability to appreciate an enjoy working with elderly individuals.
