Sales Associate

Advantage Solutions’ Sales Leadership Program is designed for recent college graduates who wish to pursue a career in sales. This immersion program provides training in several areas of the Sales division of Advantage Solutions including, but not limited to: Administration, Analytics, Insights and Intelligence, Retail, Headquarter Sales and Business Development. Each associate (Sales Associate) participating in the Sales Leadership Program will go through a series of 5 tracks throughout the course of being a Sales Associate.

All participants experience a variety of on-the-job training, structured learning and project collaboration with peers and leadership on different levels. Each associate is assigned to a seasoned coach who guides them through the program. In addition to the day-to-day job duties in his/her specific track, Sales Associates will be called upon to complete real-world case studies and simulations to further deepen his/her skill set and knowledge of the business. Example projects may include preparing a client presentation or creating a new item presentation.

Sales Associates are presented with opportunities to interact with many divisions within the Sales organization, giving them the chance to gain industry knowledge, set goals to achieve a desired career path, and establish a good reputation within the company.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Note: This is a general overview of the type of work you may perform.

Administration

Support in the administration of the claims, deductions, and reconciliation processes by meeting client and customer expectations through maintaining accurate records. Assist with repayments, receivables, and collections. Process invoices and billing.
  • Interface with Customers and Clients to ensure outstanding customer service
Retail

  • Assist in servicing and selling to retail accounts within an assigned territory to ensure Client standards are met and volume is increased.
Leadership Training

Responsible for timely completion of training program and curriculum that utilizes competency based individual development plans.

Gain knowledge of cross-functional divisions, and understand both internal and external client and customer needs in order to position services, programs or products to meet those needs

Travel and/or Driving Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Sales and Marketing

0-1 years of experience in and demonstrated leadership within an organization, volunteer work, or work related experience
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, and Software/Tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation delivery to large/small groups across all levels of management to influence, inform, and guide others

Must have the ability to balance strategic (big picture) thinking with tactical application (detail oriented and execution focused)

Proven business partnering skills across all levels of management to lead, influence, and drive behavior change without formal authority across a broad range of levels within an educational environment

Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage projects within budget and fulfill educational requirements

Negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups

Displays the ability to achieve desired results through others with positive, energetic and enthusiastic communication

Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to translate data to insight

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook is required

E/R modeling experience using tools such as ERWin, PowerDesigner, ERStudio

Experience working with Microsoft technologies (SQL Server 2008 (or newer)

Experience and ability to work within software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes

ETL development experience using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

Multidimensional database development experience using tools such as SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

Windows Server components including the registry, file systems, services, and system management tools

Cisco Call Manager / VoIP knowledge

Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, climb, or possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.
