As a member of the Merrick Bank Software Development Team, you will directly support our business-critical Risk & Credit Decision Platform used by Credit, Risk, and Lending teams. Work with end-users and stakeholders to understand & analyze problems, document requirements, and deliver technology solutions. You will be engaged in all aspects of Business Analysis and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Configure, support, and develop credit request application strategies by utilizing the credit decision engine and low-code platform. Create and maintain user-friendly business software interfaces for the decisioning processes and reports. Create and maintain business process workflows and business rules. Provide data and integration to third-party financial services.

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Broad technical exposure with the ability to learn new technology tools and concepts quickly, with experience working on complex user applications
  • 2 years of experience using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, JSON/REST, and web technologies
  • Fundamental understanding Computer Programming concepts. Preference towards a formal understanding of Computer Science fields & disciplines (college degree, technical certifications, or demonstrable understanding)
  • Experience with data manipulation, query language, and relational databases
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex problems and offer different solution approaches
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling and Decision Trees
  • Understanding of financial industry services such as bank cards, loans, and retail banking
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to meet and set appropriate deadlines set by manager and self

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • MAC (Merrick Application Control) is business-critical Risk & Financial Decisioning System built and serviced internally. This person must be qualified and competent to act as first contact and incident-responder for all user-related issues with Production MAC System and Third Party Data providers
  • Perform initial programming and validation of rules, rule sets & process flows
  • Assist in the development and servicing for enterprise & application reporting
  • Work with department stakeholders, end-users, QA, and engineering to understand opportunities and document requirements and specifications
  • Partner with the software engineering team to define, prioritize, track, and test user stories – preferably in an Agile software development life cycle
  • Create reports and deliver daily file output and data loads. Ensure data is generated, sent, and confirmed to respective clients and data providers/services
  • Provide technical assistance and consulting in conjunction with others in Department for third party interactions with MAC
  • Coordinate internal/external ad-hoc data requests with planned workload
