The Social Media Content and Analytics Specialist will support Piedmont Natural Gas and the Duke Energy corporate communications teams with community management efforts, content creation, and data analysis across social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn).
This is a role for someone who craves a challenge, has a desire to break new ground, enjoys playing in the “white space,” in a fast-paced environment and brings a vision to build, develop, and implement new programs, playbooks and best practices. We’re seeking someone who is passionate about social media, data and analytic tools. Someone who has an innate curiosity and the desire to find out "why,” and tell the story behind that data.
Reporting and Analytics
Support the Analytics team in providing overall analysis of social data across multiple programs and social channels.
Collect and synthesize social and digital data.
Transform data into actionable social media tactics, building recommendations for leadership and stakeholders
Report on user engagement and listen to trending topics and hashtags for opportunities and key conversations
Deliver competitor/industry reporting and analysis
Work with internal partners on social link tracking and site traffic performance
Stay current with the latest social measurement trends, as well as relevant industry trends.
Social Platform Operations
Contribute to an editorial calendar to sustain a strong and steady pipeline of engaging stories, including the publishing and scheduling of daily content across all social media channels
Implement strategies set by social media manager to achieve marketing goals
Work with Content, PR, and Customer Communications teams to amplify brand stories, but also develop unique social-first content that includes visuals and videos
Consult with internal clients on social media campaigns and tactics, and serve as project manager on social projects
Identify opportunities for improvement and show agility in reframing, re-promoting and repositioning content
Collaborate on paid social efforts in coordination with paid media agency
Operate within social media marketing platform(s) – Publishing, Marketing Analytics, Community Management tools
Stay up-to-date with technology, tools, social trends and marketing strategies
Social Community Management
Engage the community across all social platforms to build relationships with users and strengthen social communities for Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas.
Listen to channel discussions, posts and comments to identify new conversation opportunities
Maintain a high level of community engagement and response timeliness across channels
Update social media response guide and optimize based on observations and insights
Partner with customer service team to handle service issues and/or requests that come through the social platforms
Partner with compliance to handle complaints made on social platforms and operate social media email inbox
Maintain brand voice that resonates across all channels
Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields.
Two (2) years of experience managing social media platforms or communities for brands
A proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and MS Outlook.
Experience in a regulated industry i.e. utility, finance, healthcare or telecommunications
Must have experience with social media management systems for enterprise (i.e. Sprinklr, Salesforce, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.)
Must have experience with social/traditional media measurement tool (i.e. Sprinklr, Cision/Trendkite, Quintly, Buzzsumo, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in engaging and activating online community groups and social media channels
Experience regularly drafting messages (both proactive and reactive) on behalf of a large brand, corporation, and executives is preferred. Long and short-form writing samples may be requested.
Strong analytical skills; must be proficient in analyzing and interpreting social-related data from standard software packages and client databases.
Comfortable finding the meaning in data, turning data into stories, and presenting data.
Experience with text analysis, specifically Boolean logic keyword analysis
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills to work efficiently and effectively with clients, teammates, and management.
