What We’re Looking For

Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill a Project Manager (PE) position in the Transportation Business unit in our Atlanta (Gwinnett Co.), GA office.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage project scope, schedule and budget in order to achieve or exceed desired profitability targets.
Assist Georgia Transportation Leader in identifying and developing both technical and non-technical training of staff.
Supervise Project Engineers and provide weekly staff expectations, department information and responsibilities of assigned staff.
Clearly communicate with Project Engineers on a daily basis.
Manage plan development in a manner that produces high quality plans that will ensure repeat business.
Develop and share best practices with other Project Managers and Project Engineers in order to consistently achieve the maximum potential of the department.
Provide technical oversight to Project Engineers.
Sign and seal design plans, as needed.

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
7+ years of design experience.
PE is preferred.
Possess knowledge related to current Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) plan development, processes and delivery
Familiarity with current AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, etc.
Have the ability to apply extensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices for assigned transportation design projects.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
Strong interpersonal/communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced-collaborative team atmosphere with an established group of surveyors, civil and transportation engineers, landscape architects and administrative staff.
