Job Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
Manage compensation planning and administration of Scholastics compensation programs, leads job evaluations, market survey and market intelligence analysis. Partners with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and Finance partners. Partners and aligns on strategy for compensation planning tool and processes in Work Day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Compensation Planning & Administration
Provide consultative guidance and recommendations, analysis, reporting and market intelligence to managers.
Manage ongoing review of compensation practices, policies and processes for the Firm.
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to develop competitive compensation offers for new hires.
Lead the annual Total Compensation Planning cycles for assigned business, including the development of guidelines, review of recommendations to ensure compliance with guidelines, and consolidation and analysis of recommendations for senior management consideration.
Develop compensation communications for HRBPs and Business Leaders.
Market Surveys & Intelligence
- Lead the compensation market survey process
Benchmark jobs and practices to external market surveys
Track key issues and trends in compensation, by participating in industry groups, conducting benchmarking studies, and gathering market intelligence from Recruiters.
Analyze data from external and internal sources to prepare competitive intelligence summaries and recommendations to business leaders.
Job Evaluation
Oversee job evaluation processes
Review new and existing job descriptions and assign appropriate grades.
Partner with HRBPs and business to create career paths.
Project Management & HRIS Partner
Act as lead and/or team member on compensation related projects such as sales compensation implementation, HRIS liaison for all compensation projects.
Lead or participate in broad HR initiatives and ad hoc data requests

Qualifications
HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expert Knowledge of excel, HRIS systems and compensation tools. WorkDay or PeopleSoft experience preferred.
Expert analytical, project management and process management skills
Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines
Excellent organizational and follow up skills with a strong attention to detail
Strong partnership across HR and Finance teams.
Accountable for tracking and reconciliation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience working with external surveys
Experience and Education:
10+ years’ relevant compensation experience.
Extensive knowledge of compensation best practices and processes.
Ability to work independently and interact with all levels of professionals.
Strong, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in HR, business or finance or related work experience preferred but not required.
CCP certification preferred.
