We are seeking a RF / Microwave Engineer , a technical expert for solutions implementation based on our rental products and services for our customers. The role is focused on various phases of the sales process including customer requirements analysis, feature-by-feature demonstrations, benchmarks, competitive positioning, and implementation/execution, generally allocated by customers and sales. This person should be technically adept to understand customer problems, recommend solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. This person will partner with our Sales teams to configure Electro Rent's products and services with customer requirements. Prepare detailed product specifications for applications and/or solutions. Partner with our OEM's to ensure the product functions per specifications. May provide start up assistance to ensure the products are functioning properly at the customer site. May deliver internal and customer training classes relating to applications, competitive offerings and products.

  • Assists the field organization to meet or exceed sales quota, through the provision of technical expertise. May be client or product oriented.
  • Contributes to sales account planning.
  • Participates actively in the sales process from deal qualification to deal closure.
  • Owns the deal's technical closure. Is knowledgeable of the manufacturers we represent and can present different solutions.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and recommends appropriate solution. Is responsible for demos and for enhancing customers' experience and satisfaction.
  • Partners with the sales team to differentiate Electro Rent from the competition.
  • May also contribute to post-sales activities.
  • Integrate Electro Rent inventory into customer solutions – good understanding of inventory; provides input to Product Management
  • Leads the design/ delivery of integrated multiple technologies solutions; is the key contributor of technical expertise and business/ industry knowledge
  • Solves complex, high impact system/application engineering services problems

This position is focused on Electro Rent's RF & Microwave for applications and technologies like:

  • mmWave Testing
  • Phase Noise Measurements
  • Noise Figure Measurements
  • Load Pull Measurements
  • Pre-5G, 5G, LTE, WCDMA, WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth and GPS
  • Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, One Box Testers

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree or University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Strong understanding of RF & Microwave applications.
  • Experience with equipment from Keysight and Rohde & Schwartz or equivalent
  • 5 years relevant experience for entry to this level.
  • Based on customer requirements candidate must be a US Citizen or equivalent work status
  • Strong written communication skills. Able to clearly and convincingly express ideas. Compelling and concise communicator. Effective presentation skills in large and small settings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Travel required - 50%
