Corporate Health Resources (CHR) is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner to work 4 hours/week (preferably Thursday mornings) at a client site in Research Triangle Park, NC. CHR has set a new standard of excellence in occupational health care services. Founded in 1986, CHR has nearly 30 years of experience and is focused exclusively on managing workforce health programs for major corporations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
As the medical provider for the Greensboro, NC site, provides general medical care and treatment under direction of Corporate Medical Director and Health Services Regional Manager, North America.
Identifies urgent, emergency care facilities and medical specialists in the geographical area for referrals as necessary.
Promotes and participates in wellness program initiatives and conducts assessments for the Reaping Rewards program to employees and eligible spouses.
Provides first aid to Syngenta employees and contractors for work related injuries and illnesses. If contractor, after initial first aid the case will be referred to the contract company for follow-up. If an employee and incidents become more than a first aid case, submits first report of injury. Liaisons with case managers and employees as necessary throughout the case.
Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed protocols and instructions of Corporate Medical Director.
Provides care for employees for personal medical conditions and injuries. Records physical findings, formulates plan and prognosis, and follows-up accordingly - based on employee’s condition.
Discusses cases with Corporate Medical Director and other health professionals as needed to prepare and carry out a comprehensive patient care plan.
Prescribes medications and other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
May refer employees to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
Provides training to employees and contractors on health related topics as necessary. Collaborates with HSE manager on health and safety issues.
Orders and maintains clinic and office supplies for Health Services clinic. Participates in Health Services nurse staff meetings and events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Fully unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license required in the state of North Carolina. Occupational health or ED experience required. Current evidence-based clinical knowledge required. Must be proficient in blood draws. BAT, UDS, CAOHC, and/or COHN certification is a plus. Completion of NIOSH approved spirometry course a plus. Proficiency with computer software programs (including MS Office), electronic medical records, and common office equipment is required. Must be able to multitask, be flexible, and maintain organization while being exceptionally attentive to detail. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong focus on delivering excellence in customer service.
