Responsible for overall management of retail store, staff, inventory and customer service. Achieve sales objectives while maintaining high operational and merchandising standards and goals. Build and maintain a highly motivated team. Develop talent pipeline for future growth opportunities.


  • Meet store sales goals
  • Motivate and drive store team to achieve sales and inventory goals
  • Analyze sales reports to identify opportunities and develop selling strategies
  • Establish individual goals for store associates to achieve total store sales goals
  • Manage client database and utilize information to increase sales
  • Execute and maintain all Merchandising and Marketing directives
  • Collaborate with Manager of Retail to identify in-store marketing opportunities that support sales objectives, product promotions and seasonal initiatives
  • Provide regular status updates to Manager of Retail
  • Adhere to and execute opening and store closing procedures
  • Conduct inventory on a bi-annual basis
  • Adhere to inventory management and loss prevention procedures and standards
  • Ensure compliance with cash control procedures including: bank deposits, safe funds and petty cash
  • Control store budget and expenses while striving to identify new methods to reduce expenses
  • Identify and manage third party vendors and service providers
  • Ensure a neat, clean, organized and well stocked selling floor and stock room
  • Identify and communicate inventory concerns or shortages in a timely manner to management
  • Monitor inventory flow and ensure that staff adheres to all shipping/receiving policies and procedures
  • Create and manage weekly schedules for store team that will optimizes sales while maintaining payroll budgets
  • Develop events and incentives that will address existing and new customer base, with particular emphasis on building local market opportunities
  • Execute goal setting and annual performance review process for store associates
  • Train and develop store team on register management, selling techniques, product knowledge and customer service standards
  • Recruit, train, and develop new store associates, ensuring new hires closely match target profile
  • Resolve all human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, partnering with HR when necessary
  • Execute special projects on an as needed basis

  • 5-7 years of Store Management experience
  • Prior experience opening new stores
  • Prior experience recruiting, training, developing and managing store employees
  • Proven success in motivating retail teams to achieve or exceed sales targets
  • Prior experience in business development, visual merchandising and store operations
  • Ability to be resourceful and problem solve effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and climb ladders
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including nights, weekends and split shifts
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • High School Diploma
