About the Position:
Reporting to the Manager Project Reporting and Governance, this key role is accountable to provide insightful data analysis, report development and delivery across the projects in Capital Delivery’s portfolio. Deliver value by presenting reports that can be used by the senior management team to make robust decisions to enable the baseline to be delivered efficiently and effectively.
This role will support the formal change request process within Capital Delivery that allows changes to project baselines and add value by ensuring that the consequences of accepting any given change is understood before it is accepted. This role will also support the monthly Capital Deliver Oversight Committee (CDOC) process within Capital Delivery. This meeting focused on overall performance of the capital delivery portfolio of projects through reviews of portfolio and process level KPIs, project specific reviews and financial reviews.
This key individual will need to understand the business drivers that impact Capital Delivery’s portfolio; including financial, regulatory, operational, and stakeholder engagement.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Participate in the development and implementation of a method of capturing and tracking change control requests to ensure they are dealt with effectively and in a timely manner and are accepted into the baseline workbook.
Conduct impact assessment change request to understand its consequences.
Ensure that all change requests have been signed off to prevent delays and minimize disruptions.
Provide advice on all aspects of change control to ensure the process is managed to agreed standards.
Oversee a subset of projects in the portfolio assigned to Capital Delivery to ensure that any changes are properly documented and addressed.
Participate in the development and implementation of an agreed approach for reporting across Capital Delivery and gaining appropriate agreement on the way forward, to ensure that accurate data is available when needed.
Operate under the requirements and standard of information required to be supplied by PMCC and contractors to facilitate the change control process.
Support the Capital Delivery Oversight Committee process on a monthly cadence. Collaborating with stakeholders
Knowledge & Experience Required:
3-5 years’ experience in project management, reporting or schedule management or equivalent relevant experience.
A Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant project management, engineering and construction experience.
Proven experience in earned value and other project measurement methodology
Significant experience of being able to create, automate and utilize data from multiple sources.
Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative, integrity and ability to interact with company personnel, contractors and regulatory representative
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history required.
Knowledge of the typical projects that National Grid undertakes including their issues, typical durations etc.
Understanding of how individual projects interact with each other as a result of the National Grid outage plan
Good knowledge of the environment in which Complex Capital Delivery operates. Examples of this include health & safety legislation and planning legislation.
Must have Advanced level Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills,
It is desirable but not essential that the individual would have knowledge of P6 Analytics, Microsoft Project and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Oracle Business Intelligence. The ability to manage data through SharePoint is also advantageous.
