Responsibilities: Installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, maintenance & monitoring of all VMs and products within the VMware vSphere suite of products Conduct and manage P2V migrations Manage capacity and performance all VMs ensuring high availability. Proactively monitor, test, collect and analyze system performance statistical data to improve quality & ensure optimal performance of all VM environments Create and maintain documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems, design, configuration, support and processes Diagnose and resolve complex application bottleneck issues Conduct research, cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis on proposed hardware, software and systems to justify recommendations, support purchasing efforts and in making infrastructure design and architecture decisions Manage projects across the IT team.
Technical Qualifications: The ideal candidate has 1 to 3+ years of knowledge of VMware suite of products, and demonstrated abilities in the following areas: Installation, configuration & maintenance of VMware products including (vCenter Server, Lab Manager & Site Recovery Manager) Conducting and managing P2V migrations Monitoring VMware server clusters & capacity planning Performing root cause analysis of application bottlenecks Clustering of multiple VMS host Advanced knowledge of server technologies (Windows Server 2008, AD, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft BackOffice and VPN) Solid understanding of Linux (CentOS, Redhat) & Windows OS’s Additional preferred skills: Knowledge of SAN systems (EMC & Cisco), backup, archive and disaster recover technologies General skills: Ability to work with development teams and synthesize infrastructure requirements from application needs Ability to successfully balance multiple simultaneous efforts Excellent oral and written communication skills Willingness to occasionally work scheduled night/weekend times, and to participate in off-hours on-call schedule Familiarity with the security industry is desirable but not required Development of supply chain strategies demands an understanding for the modern opportunities in the form of support systems, infrastructure and professional services that make up the prerequisites for the structures in a global logistics design. The local knowledge of the practical hands-on logistics and cultural features are required to ensure that the strategies will be possible to transform into reality.
